Welcome to Week Seven of our 12th Annual Summer Reading Contest.

This contest is open to students xi-19 from anywhere in the world. To participate, submit a response by 9 a.thou. Eastern on July thirty that answers the questions "What got your attending in The New York Times this week? Why?"

If you are 13 or older and live in the United States, or 16 or older from anywhere else in the world, postal service your response in the comment section. If you lot are the parent or the instructor of a child who is xi-12 years sometime and lives in the United States, or 11-15 and lives in another land, see the bottom of this post for details on how to submit on behalf of your kid.

Responses must be 1500 characters — near 250 words — or fewer.

What should yous choose? Well, equally you know from the rules we've posted, y'all can pick anything published on NYTimes.com in 2021, including articles, essays, videos, photos, podcasts or infographics.

Highlights From Blue Origin's Spaceflight

Bluish Origin's first flight to space with humans onboard included the billionaire Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, Wally Funk and Oliver Daemen. The team traveled more 60 miles above World.

"At that place's Oliver on the left, Jeff Bezos on the right. We are about to get to space, everybody." "Command engine start — 2, ane, ignition. We have liftoff. The Shepard has cleared the tower."   • You lot tin can choose from anything published in the print paper or on NYTimes.com in 2021, including videos, podcasts, graphics and photographs. (In your response, please include the URL or headline of the piece you pick.)

  • We'll mail this question each Fri from today through Aug. 13, and you'll have until the next Friday morn to reply with your picks. Then we'll close that post and open a new one with the same question.

  • We'll choose at least one favorite reply to feature on our site each week. Winners from this calendar week will exist appear on Aug. 10.

  • Feel free to participate each calendar week, only we allow only i submission per person per calendar week.

  • The contest is open up to students ages 11 to nineteen from anywhere in the world. If yous are 13 or older and live in the United States, or 16 or older from anywhere else in the world, post your response in the comments department. If you lot are a teacher, parent or guardian of a student or child who is between the ages of eleven and 12 and live in the United States, or eleven and xv and live in another country, and then you must submit an entry on the student's behalf using the form beneath.
